The Cape Black-eye (''Leptomyrina lara'') is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in South Africa, in Fynbos, Nama Karoo and Succulent Karoo throughout the West Cape to the East Cape, the eastern parts of the Orange Free State, the mountains of Lesotho and the North Cape. The wingspan is 20–29 mm for males and 23–31 mm for females. Adults are on wing from August to April. There are several generations per year in summer and spring.〔Woodhall, S.
